My dad passed away earlier this year and I wanted to get a tattoo for him. I want to get a cross tattoo saying in loving memory but there’s a problem. I was raised catholic by my mother, but my dad’s side of the family is jewish. I just need some suggestions. And I’m only 16 so my mom would have to approve of the design.

umm the fact that it’s a cross shouldn’t be the main thing that bothers them. Jews are not allowed to get tattoos and if they do then they cannot be buried in a jewish cemetery as long as they have a tattoo on their skin. And anyone who says jesus was a jew who died on the cross so it doesn’t matter, you suck.that has nothing to do with it.
Say he liked hunting, bring in a picture of his favorite gun to the artist, and get his initials under it. Or just think of something that reminds you of him. He loved music, get a music note, his favorite animal, ect.
But I’m sorry for your loss, I bet he will appreciate it. (:
Do something that reminds you of your father, whether it is a cross or not. When you see it, you should be able to be reminded of the happy memories you have involving your father.
Jesus was a jew who died on a cross so I don’t think that should matter you are doing it as a sign of respect
Sorry for your loss, I would suggest get a tattoo of something that was unique to him, or precious to him, like a smoke pipe, or a pen maybe. Something or some object that relates directly to your father and reminds you of him. Maybe some special quote he used to say to remind you of your ideals or ethics.
Instead of the Cross, you could always use the Star of David, since he was Jewish.
Or, maybe you shouldn’t try to incorporate religion into it at all.
Memorial tattoos can be anything that was important to the person. Search your memories for what he would like the most
