I use A&D ointment. My tattoo nver scabbed or anything and healed pretty fast.

I’ve used both, and prefer H2Ocean.

Really, though, most artists suggest just using plain white lotion. It’s what I usually use, and my tattoos healed wonderfully.

please don’t use neosporin, bacitracin,or A&D. they work for a select few, but on the whole I’ve seen more tattoos heal poorly than well because of them.
I use Aveeno, or Eucerin. Make sure whatever products you use contain no fragrance. use sunscreen on your tattoo, after its healed(at least three weeks for full healing) since it will prevent fading.
I myself also like Merry Hempsters tattoo balm. it comes in a big chapstick like tube that is easy to take with you, it smells great, and it makes you skin soft and your tattoo brilliant.

I am a tattoo artist…best thing todo isusean oinment …A+D,petroleum jelly, aquaphor….soemthing of that nature even a goo or ocean…whatever…but the true nature ofthe healing process lies in teh process of the tattoo…how hard was the artist hitting you withthat needle….did it bleed at all?….90%of my tattoos dont bleed and that even if they sit four 8-9 hours….the less you bleed the less scarring/scabbing….personally i used a smal small small amount of A+D for the firt day or two…washing every four ours with soap and water and dabbing dry them applying again a thin coat…after about day three the tattoois healed or close to it…usually no peeling or anything just a lil lotion here and there to keep it fresh looking…. a tatoo should never take more than a week to heal if done properly…but sometimes it does happen

Here is the best regiment for taking care of your tattoo:

DAY 1-3 (including the day of the tattoo)
-Use a really thin layer of A&D ointment on the tattoo no more than 2-3 times a day.
    DAY 4-6
-Use Lubriderm Sensitive, Normal to Dry Skin (100% lanolin, dye, and fragrance free)
three times a day, spread on CLEAR no white should be visible.
    DAY 7+
-Use Lubriderm all day no sooner between applications then every two hours. use more time between applications if it is not dried up.

After about around two weeks, when it is healed. keep the tattoo covered from the sun at all times. After a while start using SPF 50 Sport sun block to prevent fading as the tattoo takes three months to fully heal.

    TIPS:

-keep the tattoo covered from the sun with loose fitting clothing at ALL times.
    - DO NOT EVER pick or peel off scabs no matter how scabbed up it is or how loose the scab is on your tattoo (these are called onion Scabs). All tattoos scab no matter how well you take care of them. KEEP those scabs on there.
-Throughout the healing process (the first few days are critical) use orange DIAL soap to clean the tattoo once in the morning before 10:00 a.m. and once at night before going to sleep usually at around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. Use cold water.
-Never use to much lotion or ointment, as it will incubate the skin and make the ink rise. Which will fade your tattoo.
-after cleaning the tattoo with the soap, do not wash that area in the shower as it is already clean, The water will create to much moisture and make the ink rise.
-The better you take care of your tattoo the longer it takes to heel.

I have been using this regiment for many years and have seen great results. My tattoos are black and white and have the same vibrant look as a brand new color tattoo. They pop right out at you.
