Valknut symbol interpretation today?
I've been flirting with tattoo ideas for my sister. She died in February and her name translates as "Beloved Warrior" I met the Valknut as a symbol with some different theories about meaning. One meaning is "Nudo the fallen warrior, "which I think is quite appropriate for what I'm doing for him. I did some research and discovered that there are two types of designs Valknut knots that are true and a third chain link enclosed, which is used by neo-Nazi groups. It looks very similar to others and do not know if it's a good idea to get that more like a tattoo. I know that's not exactly the same design, but it is very difficult to tell the difference. I am a white woman and I will not be mistaken as a supremacist white. So here's my question … Valknut is the most widely recognized as a symbol of the Viking age and more people see it as a symbol of neo-Nazi?
Unfortunately unless you are aware of Scandinavian and Norse mythology, the most recognized symbol as a symbol of neo-Nazi. Sad to say tugs have stolen a lot of real religious symbols to their own twisted ideology.
