How do you get rid of medical tattoos?
I had cancer. I got radiation. Before they start the radiation, they use small black tattoos so they know where to shoot the radiation (and the tattoos don’t move, obviously). Can you get rid of these any other way besides laser removal? Does medical insurance cover it? I am tired of idiots coming up to me and saying stuff like “Is that a zit?” or “is that dirt?”.
Well I have had the first set of marks for 8 years, and they have not faded at all.
Laser removal would be the best way for removal, but I’m not really familiar with what kind of ink they use for that kind of procedure so the best thing to do would be to talk with your doctor. If your insurance will cover it, you’ll have to get a referral from him/her either way, so that’s where I’d start.
