Should i get a tattoo at 15?

Im maori and im 14 years old and i have a traditional arm tattoo design ready for me and my mum wants me to get it on my 15th birthday (in december) and she’s willing to hire a professional and everything. Im keen to get it but im wondering. Im 14 so i havent hit my main growth spurt so if i get one then grow alot will it get distorted? Is it fixable? I have a pretty good pain threshhold so i dont mind about the pain but knowing how much it hurts wouldnt hurt. (The tattoo is from the upper part of the right arm going down near my elbow small enough to be hidden by school shirts etc.)
My mom has 11 siblings and so she has atleast 5-6 brothers who all have the traditional tattoos on their arms and one who is a professional tattoist or however you spell it. I know i want to get it im just worried about it getting distorted and blurred because its genetic to be small until im 16 then i get my big spurt.

I’m 15 and I’m getting a tattoo for my 16th birthday in August. My parent’s have already approved and we already have a shop lined up that’s willing to do it with my parent’s signature. I have the design and place picked out.

Should you get it at 15?
Well that depends on a few things.
-placement. It should be somewhere very easy to hide for future jobs. I wouldn’t suggest the arm, because you couldn’t wear short sleeves to work!
-broadness of the tattoo. If you’re getting a quote or something you may change as you mature and not like the quote anymore!

For instance, I’m getting really small music notes on my foot that would only be visible when I wore flip flops or went barefoot, and you’re allowed to do neither of those for work. And music (especially since I play 4 instruments) isn’t going to be something I’m going to grow out of.

I also wouldn’t suggest getting a really large tattoo for your first one.

Make sure you do your research also! I researched the shop I’m going to to make sure it was 100% safe and I also found online that where I plan to get my tattoo is one of the most painful places. Top of the foot, closer to the toes. I still plan to go through with it though because it’s so small, that it should only take about 5 minutes.

Basically, if you’re educated about it, it’s not too big, not something you’ll grow out of, and easy to hide, I say go for it!

-good luck! :)
