Laser Tattoo Removal – Hand

Laser Tattoo Removal by Medispa Institute in Houston, TX. Tel (832)300-5593. www.medispainstitute.com This is laser tattoo removal of a 10+ year old multicolored tattoo (yellow, black, blue/green) on the hand. This video is for removal of the black ink. The yellow ink might fade a bit, and the blue sky will fade a bit as well but the bulk of the removal will be of the black ink. This is a Latina/Hispanic (skin type IV-V) patient, who has a naturally darker skin tone. It is important not to overtreat as this can easilly lead to pigment irregularity/hypopigmentation in skin types of this kind. After the tattoo is treated with the q-switched 1064nm laser for black, it is then treated with a q-switched 532nm for the yellow and blue with very little absorbption (not shown). Because of the darker skin tone of the patient and the nature of the tattoo, removal will take between 6-8 sessions. Laser Tattoo Removal by Medispa Institute in Houston, TX. I am afro-am and have had two laser treatments and both times resulted in hyperpigmentation AND hypopigmentation. The laser was kept at the lowest frequency both times. The hyperp. has toned to some degree while the hypopigmented areas are taking a very long time to return to normal. I am now waiting until my tone is back b4 another treatment , possibly 2-3 months. How can I speed up the healing process and would you recommend no trtmnt or another type of treatment?

lashell, did they used a q-switched 1064nm laser? this is the safest laser for tattoo removal on African American (AA) skin. Make sure they ice pre and post treatment to reduce injury to the epidermal melanin. For hypopig, expose these areas to sun to stimulate melanocytes. As for hyperpig, i would worry about the hypo more. Treat the hyperpig AFTER you repigment the hypo’d areas with a bleaching cream.

there are privacy issues with showing the face. the purpose of these videos is to share the procedure, not the person.

  6. mizzcashmoney1 says:

Did it hurt? If so, what did the pain feel like?

  7. lashell30 says:

@happymmm thank you for the advice. I was told to avoid the sun so I guess this is why it is taking so long for the hypo to return to normal. It was the q-switched laser.

  8. lashell30 says:

@mizzcashmoney1 yes it does hurt even with the numbing cream. At least for myself. It all depends on your pain tolerance and how badly you want to get rid of your tat. It feels like 100 hot rubber bands popping against your skin at once over and over again.

    so hardly

@lashell30 After my first tattoo removal session, I had serious hypopigmentation (I’m African American as well). My dermatologist told me to expose my skin to the sun as much as possible. Also (this isn’t professional advice), I used ginger on the affected area and that actually helped my skin tone come back quicker. HTH…

  13. bigboy4evaa says:

It basically kills the skin the tattoo is under and you grow new skin.

  14. FergusFailsAlot says:

  15. o0OCTO0o says:
